Online Concert of Cry, My Heart, Cry: Songs from Testimonies on YouTube
On January 27, 2021, the Yale Institute for Sacred Music, Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale, and the Fortunoff Video Archive hosted an online performance of songs from the Archive’s recording Shray, Hertsele Shray: Songs from Testimonies in the Fortunoff Video Archive, Volume 2. The concert is now available to watch here.
The widely diverse compositions presented on the album form a multidimensional image of the lives of Holocaust survivors, the multiple identities they carried as Jews by faith and roots, and as European citizens.
