Arie Liebke Distal was born on November 26, 1922, in Vilna. Shortly after the war, he moved to Israel, where in the late 1950s he met his wife, Hela. In addition to Hela’s daughter, Distal and Hela had two children and seven grandchildren. Distal died on July 26, 2000, in Kibbutz Yakum.
